Chikoo festival 20164/7/2023 ![]() ![]() Īfter spending almost and hour it was around 1300hrs where we just decided to take lunch break and we get a call from regestration desk that our visit to Tribal Village is scheduled now.Īll the activities were very well planned with pick up and drop service to the group from main event center i.e Bordi beach to the place where each of the activities taking place, it just we had to pay 50 INR per person extra for the pick up and drop service, which was really worth paying. Wondering what am I posing with ? its Bottle Gourd Bamboo Flute, it’s a traditional musical instrument made out of bamboo stick and outer cover of bottle Gourd, interesting isn’t it ?This shows how creative people are and can make best use out of waste.Ī single sunbeam is enough to drive us away from many shadows and here we are posing for a selfie away from our own city, creating our own story for the day. Though we missed our train it wasn’t too late as we had already registered ourself for activities we wanted do to and we were lucky enough to witness the inauguration of the event with beautiful traditional Konkani welcome dance.Time for some clicks within the event ambience before we leave this place for activities. In order to be part of those events one has to register themselves for the same, after registering for Chikkoo Safari and Tribal Village we had lil time to take a walk over the event and enjoy our leisure time as these activities need atleast 5 to 6 ppl in a group to witness the same and we were only two. Me and my Travel buddy found chikkoo Safari and Tribal Village visit interesting and took it forward. They had certain activities which can be experienced by paying stipulated per person charges I have really liked the thought behind organising this festival, this two days event is encouraging Rural Entrepreneurship development in the district.Įntry to the festival is free of cost visitors can enjoy various folk dances, shop aroundįrom more then 100 stalls selling chikkoo products, rural artifacts and can also njoy lovely local cuisine. It was around 11.00Am we finally reached our destination, first Chikoo festival was organised in 2013 and since Thn it is has become annual festival of Dahanu. Outside station you have rickshaw stand from where you can take private or share Rick to your destination, our destination was Bordi Beach 18kms away from Dahanu and we chose to take private Rick.īeautiful road journey from Dahanu station to bordi beach, crossing small chikkoo farms, rural houses, rural school actually gave us feel of the place . ![]() We had direct local to take form Borivali station to Dahanu at 7:50 , unfortunately Indian railways never on time and our Dahanu local was delayed by 40/45Min.įinally by 8:25 train arrives and we cud start our day trip to Dahanu. 2hrs train journey leads us toDahanu station, it was 10:30 and we are at our destination following crowd and got out of platform not knowing our way, but we were on the right way though… ![]() Most unplanned trip to Chikkoo festival, Dahanu begins. It was me n my travel partner Shreya who visited this fest. Here I start with my first ever travel blog sharing my experience of this festival.
